History
History of Council of 101
The Council of 101 was founded in 1965 to financially support the Orlando Museum of Art and to encourage the cultural development and education of the visual arts in Central Florida. This group of dedicated volunteers is committed to the Museum through its service and leadership as demonstrated in the number of volunteer hours expended, financial contributions and the implementation of three annual fundraising projects including the Festival of Trees, Art in Bloom: Festival of Fine Arts and Flowers and the Corporate Lease Program.
The Council of 101, since its inception, has contributed over $14 million toward the acquisition of art, financial support of exhibitions, facility renovation, and Museum expansion programs.
